♥I didn't do much work at all at school but that's because none of it ever interested me. But I always worked to my fullest with Art, I don't know i think it's because i can express myself in my pictures or something.. to be honest it's probably something a lot less deep than that like being attracted to swirly colours.
Any who, I found out that I got a grade A in Art ( asdfghjkl!) and I had a mini party inside over it! So i thought I'd upload photos of some of my work, this work has also got me accepted into an Art and Design course that I was trying to get into! yaaay!♥
This is a study of Nathan Sykes, 1/5 of boy band The Wanted. This took me an hour to draw. I used a standard roll of white paper and I drew this with a HB pencil for the lighter tones and for the detail and i also used a 9B LYRA Graphite crayon for the darker tones. To get better effect i used my fingertips to smudge throughout certain areas.
This is a pastel study on a Chinese woman blowing out smoke from her mouth. I messed up on her eyes because one of them is different to the other but i thought it was still too good to start over. This took me just over 40 minutes. I think i did a pretty good job on her hair considering how greasy it looked in the photo i was studying from.
These are various drawings of shoes and heels I had painted/drawn and my Art teacher displayed them as a colourful collage on the Art room wall. The red bow shoes earned me Artist of the Month for 4 months which I was dead chuffed about! I focused a lot of studded heels for a while too.
This originally wasn't supposed to be entered, I was just doodling it in class one day. It's of an English man, I think I've drawn him to look quite posh. Again, this was drawn with a Graphite crayon.. as a lot of my sketches were.
I can't get this bliming photo to rotate errh! But anyway if you tilt your head to the right, you'll see that this is a white chalk and white and black pastel piece on 1/5 of Boy band 'The Wanted', Siva Kaneswaran. This is definitely one of my favourite pieces. I put in a lot of detail with the chalk regarding his collar and neck bones.
At the end of every project I had to write up an Artist Account about an artist who focuses on the same work as me and paint a piece of that particular artist' work. I decided to put them together. I chose Mark Swartz who is a Shoe Artist and i wrote up his artist account on top of my drawing of heels in a champagne glass which I think is creative.
This is a different angle shot of the collage my Art teacher placed together on the wall of all the shoes and heel pieces that I created. The collage drew attention in the room because of all of the different colours.
I love it!!
This was originally a sketch of 1/5 of Boy band 'The Wanted', Max George but I'm just not that sure if it looks like him anymore so I tell people it's a drawing of just a random guy. I enjoyed drawing jackets during this topic, i find that I'm good at it!
This is a colouring pencil study from a pair of gorgeous heels that i saw on the River Island website, but i decided to add the polka dots myself,
When I had finished my 'Insects' topic, I thought of creating a little 'hut' made out of branches from trees and bushes and leaves all over it, and to display all of my insect pieces on and around it. I think it looks really great. Behind on the left you can see some of Bea's 'eyes' topic and also behind on the right you can see some of Shannon's 'Cats' topic. They also ended up with Grade A's too :)
Max George and Siva Kaneswaran performing ♥
The card roll line of different shoes at the top is my favourite piece. I used glitter for the red socks and silver paint for the shoes in the first pair.
Tonal and shading study of Jay McGuiness' face
I made some laminated butterfly cut-outs and used swirly wire to make a little head-piece and i wrapped coloured tissue paper around the wire. They looked super cute on my Art teachers daughter! :)
